If you are in your 20s
You are still young and your body is strong and full of energy. You can spend a night out having fun at a disco club enjoying your favorite foods and drinks. At this wonderful age your body is capable of using the calories you consume because your metabolism is very high. You do not need to do too much or put effort to look good. Those young people who keep track of their diet and exercise achieve fantastic results. If you are in your 30s
Now it is the right time to start to take some more care of yourself. The main aspect to pay attention to is your menu. Make sure that you eat plenty of vegetables. Lean protein such as turkey, chicken, fish and low-fat cottage cheese is preferred. Avoid refined sugars, because at this age your body will store them as fat. Get rid of unhealthy snacks. If you want to have a slim waist, substitute candies and biscuits with fruit. It is wise to regularly take fish-oil supplements. Taking multi-vitamins won’t do harm either.
Recommended: Most of those who used to be quite active at their 20s and did sports stop exercising when they reach their 30s. This is when people become responsible for a variety of different things in their life. They are supposed to make money, support their families and raise children. They have less time to work out yet their eating habits do not change. The only way out is to eat healthy and join a gym. You can also exercise at home. Here the most important thing is to do sports on a regular basis. At this age it is not yet too late and you can do a lot to look fit and trim although some effort is required.
You are in your 40s
People at their 40s tend to naturally lose muscle if they do not do sports and stay passive. The less lean muscle mass you have the less calories you burn. Besides all this your metabolism needs boosting to help you get rid of fat, that’s why it is extremely important to look through your diet and improve it. 
Recommended: Pilates is a great choice. You should combine flexibility workout and strength training. Special exercises that Pilates offers will help you gain some muscle mass and burn stubborn tummy fat. This type of exercise is advised for women who have had children and want to tone up their abdominal muscles. Another thing to keep in mind is that your digestive system needs some additional help. To maintain or even improve it experts recommend you take a fiber supplement.
You are in your 50s and over
Whatever you do at your 50s to stay in shape will do just fine when you reach your 60s, 70s and any older age. Watch what you eat and include as many various vegetables as possible. Read meat is not recommended, however, lean protein is absolutely necessary. Take care of your bones and prevent osteoporosis by eating plenty of calcium-rich foods.
Recommended: Resistance training is what you need after the age of 50. You will both increase your muscle mass and help your body release the “happiness” hormone called serotonin. Not only will active lifestyle strengthen your core and make your tummy flat it will also protect your knees, back and hips from injury.
